Data protection

General Information
 Magyar Telekom Plc. respects and protects the personal data of those customers who contact the Company through its website.

The following regulations govern in particular the data management activities of our Company:

• Act No. C/ 2003 on electronic communications
• Act No. LXIII. of 1992 on the protection of personal data and publicity of public data amended by Act  No. XLVIII of 2003 and Act XIX of 2005.
• Government Decree No. 226/2003  (XII.13) Korm. on the special conditions of data management by electronic communications operators, data security of electronic communication services and the rules of calling line identification and call forwarding 
• Decree No. 16/2003.( XII.27. )IHM of the Ministry of IT and Communications on the detailed rules of subscriber agreements on electronic communications services and conclusion thereof.

If you are the subscriber of Magyar Telekom Plc. you will find information regarding the protection of your data under Data Security Information .

If you submit a job application the Data Security Policy provides information on the management of your personal data.

Further decrees relating to the data protection of Magyar Telekom Plc. are contained in the relevant rules of procedure of the Deutsche Telekom Group.

Magyar Telekom Plc. does not assume liability of any kind for the data management of those sites from which  a link is pointing to the website of Magyar Telekom or to which a link is pointing from the website of Magyar Telekom .

Personal data records
You are not required to enter personal data to check the information displayed on the website. 

Nevertheless, access to certain services (e.g. job application ) requires certain personal details (e.g. name, address) . In such case Magyar Telekom Plc. will inform the affected customers about the rules of data management, and obtains the preliminary approval to management of personal data. Such approval can be withdrawn at any time.

For the technical operation of the website Magyar Telekom Plc. uses on temporary basis the following automatically generated information which do not contain personal details:   Internet protocol address (IP-address), domain-name (URL), access data, customer file request  (file and URL),  HTTP response code, data of the website from where the request is made,  turnover of bites during the visit, time of the visit, details of the visited sites and the browser used.  In certain cases anonymous visitor identification (cookies) is used as well, for website optimization according to user preferences.

Data management, transfer to third parties
Magyar Telekom Plc. will inform the affected parties in any case when the Company wants to use the data provided for any purpose other than the original purpose of recording. In such case the advance approval of the affected party will be requested, and the customers will have an option to withdraw such approval at any time.

Magyar Telekom Plc. shall not transfer to third party the personal data managed by the Company unless it is required by law .

Data security
To prevent unauthorized usage of the managed personal data and related fraud events, our Coampny applies extensive  measurements of technical and operational security. Our security procedures undergo regular review and upgraded in accordance with the technological development.

Information
Based on a request submitted in writing Magyar Telekom Plc. will provide information to the affected parties about the management of their personal data.
