Infocommunication outsourcing
Phases of the outsourcing process
Already in the preparatory phase T-Systems presents the outsourcing approach and methodologies and tailors it to your needs. We select together the solutions that best suit the goals of our partners (e.g. solutions based on users, infrastructure elements, service tickets and their combinations) out of our various charging and settlement models. On the basis of T-Systems Due Diligence and contract conclusion methodologies the results of outsourcing preparations can be quickly revised, validated and worded in a contractual form.
The primary objective of the transitional period following the signing of the outsourcing contract is to ensure smooth handover-acceptance and operation of the outsourced services according to the critical service levels.Implementation of transformation project objectives (e.g. creation of processes, unification of the operating environment, construction of reserve connections and infrastructure elements, etc.) is of key importance in the success of the outsourcing so that ITIL-based service management in the transformed operation results in lower operating risks, higher service standard and controlled expenses in accordance with the objective of the organizations.
Cooperation with Budapest Bank in infocommunication matters
The objective of Budapest Bank with the modernization of its PABX system
was to create a homogeneous infocommunication technology platform to enable
fulfillment of growing requirements for the branch offices, the parent company
and the security function. After a two-round tender and e-auction Budapest Bank
concluded a 3-year agreement with T-Systems for the operation of the branch
offices’ LAN and WAN infrastructure and IP telephony services based on that
infrastructure. Modernization
of branch offices, then operation in the form of outsourcing was carried out
gradually:the handover of a test
branch office was followed by a pilot project with five branch offices, then
roll-out to the complete network of branch offices. In addition to takeover and modernization of the PABX system
T-Systems also took over and optimized the existing contracts. The infocommunication platform created as
a result of roll-out completed in September 2005 can be operated more simply
and securely than the earlier infrastructure with higher than 20% cost saving.
Infocommunication outsourcing means a long-term
cooperation for the provision of telecommunications and IT services and
operation of systems and infrastructure.This
includes full performance of the outsourced activities by a specialized
professional external service provider – with the exception of strategic tasks
remaining with the company that requests outsourcing.Outsourcing can include full or partial takeover of the employees
and contracts concerned, purchase of assets or even use of service provider’s
resources.
Who can benefit from the T-Systems outsourcing service?
Companies that want to have the infrastructure of their corporate management, IT, communication and business administration systems designed, constructed and operated by an external service provider.
Benefits gained with the use of the service
- Professionalism and flexibility – With the outsourcing service provider your company can have access to professional skills and technologies that would not be economical to implement or would not be available within your own IT and telecommunications organization.
- Guaranteed service standard- Outsourcing reveals the inherent risks in your internal operations (redundancies, lack of standards, “key people risks” resulting from skills of certain people, etc.) that the service provider manages with various bypass (alternative, back-up, etc.) solutions so the outsourced service levels can be guaranteed even when a low-probability fault event occurs.
- The unification and new order resulting from an outsourcing project can exceed the results of internal unification efforts aiming at minimization of risks carried out parallel to daily operations.Standardization results in simpler and cheaper operation in addition to reduction of risks.
- Controlled expenditures – Outsourcing can be financed from the budget of service operations: the service provider finances the high initial investment that is paid back in the form of operating expenses spread evenly over years in the budget of your infocommunication organization.
- With the outsourcing of services, infocommunication costs become transparent and can be planned on the basis of actual usage.Outsourcing service can be provided for a flat rate or priced on the basis of the number of terminal equipment, network termination points, trouble and service tickets, users, etc.

What activities should be outsourced?
It is worth outsourcing functions and activities which do not have strategic importance in the company’s business or where there is a shortage of resources. Focus on core activities improves competitiveness and the company’s market rating. Internal resources can be expended on the core operations, missing resources and competences can be provided by the external service provider with higher quality level.
