T-Systems Hungary going stronger by yet another merger

Daten-Kontor Kft. to contribute unique application development competences to Hungary’s leading ICT service provider

T-Systems Hungary going stronger by yet another mergerTo put the icing on the cake and finalise the merger performed in October 2012, as from 1 April 2013, Daten-Kontor Kft., a company with more than two decades of experience in the development, installation and operation of IT applications will also become part of T-Systems Hungary. The country’s leading ICT service provider will further increase flexible service to one-off customer requirements and participation in international markets.

One of the predominant participants of the Hungarian ITC market, Daten-Kontor Kft. will merge into T-Systems Hungary as from 1 April, 2013. The company’s integration will further strengthen the application development and system integration specialisations in T-Systems Hungary, thus in the future Hungary’s largest ICT company will be able to cover the entire spectrum of infocommunication technologies by an even wider range of competences. Daten-Kontor will contribute and reinforce competences like the Geographic Information System, billing systems, production management and logistics solutions and Call Centre / Contact Centre solutions to T-Systems Hungary’s portfolio. As one of their important tasks, the staff transferred from Daten-Kontor will flexibly attend to discretional customer requirements.

“Daten-Kontor’s team will further facilitate the achievement of T-Systems Hungary’s strategic objectives: its corporate culture and traditions fit well into our company’s transformational partnership role. It is important for us to be able to provide in-depth support our customers’ core activities jointly, with the help of customised, unique solutions to have a considerable impact on their success”, T-Systems Hungary’s CEO Róbert Budafoki put it in his press release on the merger. “We are convinced that the integration of Daten-Kontor will set yet another example of the fact that the strengths of our companies add up and multiply in T-Systems solution centre”, he added.

Daten-Kontor Kft. has been operating in Magyar Telekom’s 100% subsidiary since February 2011. In 2012 the company realised nearly HUF 4 billion revenue and currently works in seven countries, in altogether more than 140 active projects. Daten-Kontor has had an outstanding role in application development in the Hungarian and the regional market for several years, but its service portfolio also extends to the introduction of software tools made by third parties, system monitoring, support and consultancy services, as well as system integration activities.

“In the course of integration continuity is always kept in view: the team transferred from Daten-Kontor will remain together and will be organically fitted into the structure of T-Systems Hungary. Thus Daten-Kontor’s current customers can continue to work with the staff and specialists they are used to”, pointed out László Blénessy, Daten-Kontor’s managing director up to the merger and currently T-Systems Hungary’s line director, during the press conference. In his opinion the basic philosophies of Daten-Kontor and T-Systems were identical: “We are convinced that efficiency and competitiveness in customers’ core activities can only be increased by uninterrupted joint thinking.”
