Hungarian IT professional wins WorldSkills silver medal

Dávid Csongrádi from Hungary came in second at the WorldSkills vocational education and skills excellence competition held in Brazil between August 12 and 15.

Hungarian IT professional wins WorldSkills silver medal This year, Sao Paolo hosted the event where more than 1200 young professionals representing 50 professions competed as part of the WorldSkills event, also known as the Olympic games of professions. Dávid Csongrádi demonstrated an extraordinary performance in the IT Network Systems Administration category that won him the silver medal. At each day of the four-day event, competitors had to prove their abilities at different areas of their professions. Dávid’s performance was especially excellent on the second day, as he managed to solve the task of the day without any errors, which is almost unprecedented. At the end, the race became very tight: the performance of the Hungarian participant was worth the second place, close behind the South Korean gold medalist.

Dávid had won the Hungarian national selection round organized by HTTP Foundation last March. Among other professional partners, T-Systems Hungary also provided substantial support and contributed to the proper financial and professional background of the contestant in course of the close to 1.5-year-long intensive training that followed the selection round.

The IT industry has been dominated by Asian competitors for many year, Europeans have not been among the top three for a long time, which makes Dávid’s achievement even more outstanding.
