T-Systems Hungary partners with OTE Greece to provide data center outsourcing services to Coca-Cola HBC

The Greek telecommunication company OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization) – member of the Deutsche Telekom (DT) Group - and T-Systems Hungary won a five year contract with the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC), one of the largest bottlers of The Coca-Cola Company’s products worldwide, for rendering data center services.

Coca-ColaAs concluded in the deal, OTE in Athens provides the primary data center, while T-Systems Hungary in Budapest the disaster recovery center functions. T-Systems Hungary’s participation is determined by the company’s info-communication integration capabilities – based on its uniquely wide ranging portfolio – when implementing highly complex tasks.

The role of the Budapest based data center – meeting stringent quality requirements – is considered highly important, as it provides uninterrupted services in case of an incident.

T-Systems Hungary assists OTE Greece during the transition phase, migrating data from the existing data centers into Athens and Budapest. T-Systems Hungary has set up a team of experienced SAP consultants in order to relocate one of the world’s largest integrated SAP infrastructures. The team’s task includes mapping, planning and fine-tuning the systems, so that the new operating environment meets all service requirements stipulated by Coca-Cola HBC. As an especially important requirement within everyday business processes, the transition is to be implemented so that it goes unnoticed by the more than 36.000 employees of Coca-Cola HBC in 28 countries.

The investment of 43 million Euros is one of the most significant info-communications business successes within the Deutsche Telekom Group in Europe, setting an excellent example for cross border cooperation.
