Common position statement of BKK and T-Systems Hungary

On the subject of the actions taken consequent to the IT attacks on the online ticket sales system of the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) and T-Systems Hungary, BKK provides the below information:

Consequent to the unauthorized influencing of its IT system, T-Systems Hungary pressed charges against an unknown offender (and not a specific person). According to its stringent internal protocol, in order to protect the systems developed by the company – if an event reaches a specified level - T-Systems Hungary is obliged to take such an action. The company could not follow any other process in this case, either.

However, the chief executive officers of BKK and T-Systems Hungary were sorry to learn that the suspect is a young student, who – according to his statements published in the media – acted on good intention.
