This year’s DELFIN Prizes have been awarded

This year, Magyar Telekom once again awarded prizes to individuals playing outstanding role in the field of sustainability. The DELFIN Prizes were handed over among others by climate researcher and professor at the Central European University Diána Ürge-Vorsatz, and presenter-director Attila Till in the course of the 17th Sustainability Roundtable Talk.

DELFINThe expert jury recognized exemplary sustainability solutions and performances implemented at the winner organizations in the areas of innovation, equal chances, climate protection and sustainable awareness.

“Ensuring sustainable development, corporate sustainability, responsible operation and equal chances is of key importance to Telekom. The purpose of the DELFIN Prize awarded DELFINduring roundtable talk organized for the seventeenth time is to strengthen the dialogue with our partners”, said Chief HR Officer of Telekom, Éva Somorjai in her speech opening the 17th Sustainability Roundtable Talk.  “Our achievements during the last few years – for example that we are the first large enterprise in Hungary that has become fully carbon-neutral – encourages us to achieve new targets determined in our revised Sustainability Strategy.”

By awarding the DELFIN Prize (Díj egy ELkötelezett, Fenntartható, Innovatív Nemzedékért – Prize for a committed, sustainable and innovative generation) established in 2008, Magyar Telekom helps promote the concept of sustainable development and recognizes the activities performed to achieve this objective. Any business operating in Hungary was eligible to apply for the prize with projects, programs and developments representing a significant step made by the applying company toward a more efficient operation from sustainability point of view.

The winners of the DELFIN Prize in 2016 are:

Winners of the competition were awarded the work of glass artist Péter Botos, as well as exhibition opportunity for the 9th Sustainability Day, where on September 24th they will have the opportunity to showcase their results in the field of sustainability. Additionally, a 2-3-minute long film – accompanied by online promotion – introducing the winning work will be made. On the top of all this, the winners were also offered a Next Business Comfort M tariff package, 2 GB mobile internet, unlimited browsing option and e-mail option free of charge for one year, and an Office 365 Corporate Premium package.

Members of the expert jury evaluating and ranking the applications were: independent expert Péter Bodó (founder of Route 4 you), editor-in-chief Bence György (origo, Sustainability Media Club), university reader Dr. György Pataki (Budapest Corvinus University), leader of the sustainability center Katalin Szomolányi (Magyar Telekom).
