Virtual stop and dynamic passenger information system

A national transport conference took place in the Kecskemét College as part of the Transport Operational Programme on June 26. In the event T-Systems Hungary had an interactive presentation about the intelligent passenger information system.

Virtual stop and dynamic passenger information systemThe conference was opened by the speech of Mayor Szemereyné Pataki Klaudia followed by Dr. Becsey Zsolt, Deputy Secretary of State responsible for transport of the Ministry of National Development, who talked about the transport development opportunities in the South Alföld Region.

Representing T-Systems Hungary, Zoltán Szatay delivered a presentation on complex traffic control and passenger information provision applied in the local transport system.

Related to the lecture, a spectacular installation was exhibited in the lobby of the college, presenting how the digital passenger information system to be introduced soon will work in the practice in Kecskemét. In addition, specialists of T-Systems also introduced the Kecskemét traffic control system on board model, with onboard computer and dispatcher workstation, as well as the LED-based stop sign. The latest virtual stop was also displayed, which is capable of displaying dynamic departure data of the individual stops by reading QR a code.

The conference was accompanied by intense media attention. Gábor Horváth, Director of Medium and Large State-owned Companies Branch of T-Systems Hungary gave an interview to the Kecskemét TV, where he told the following: „”Onboard computers maintaining continuous contact with the center are going to be installed on the buses. The computer will also include a GPS transmitter continuously transmitting the actual position of all the buses.” He added that as part of the project, a total of 77 stop displays will be installed in the busiest spots of Kecskemét.
